The RMA recognizes those business professionals that are making a real positive contribution to the local community. Annual awards are presented for outstanding service to the RMA and its membership.
DESCRIPTION OF AWARDS:
The Roland K. Peters Small Business of the Year Award is given annually to a local business that has demonstrated resilience, creativity in marketing, commitment to the community, and a true representation of a committed local business.
Super Star Volunteer Award is given annually to the RMA Member (or members) with a dedication to excellence in service to the members and RMA staff throughout the last calendar year. They offer support to all members, volunteers, the RMA staff, and assume leadership roles within the Association. You can always find a super star providing encouragement through their participation and active involvement in the communities that the RMA serves.
Super Star Business Awards are given annually to the businesses or organizations that promote, educate and support the concept of “Think Local. Be Local. Buy Local” in our community with their own resources and efforts over and above supporting the RMA.
RMA Coffee Talk – JOHN STEWART WALKER
Coffee Talk is RMA’s Premium “Award Winning” Networking event that has grown to over 75+ in attendance. Coffee Talks are a great way for new and existing businesses, local professionals, and organizations to get to know one another and learn how to assist each other in the growth of business and community. The event is a member benefit yet open to your guests. Monthly meetings are held in a member location, giving exposure to their business and making connections with local business professionals. This is networking at its finest, with no pressure. Bring business cards to share, meet old friends, make new friends, and hear what RMA is doing on your behalf. July’s Coffee Talk is being held Friday, July 27th from 8 AM to 10 AM at John Stewart Walker, located at 3211 Old Forest Road.
Where’s Waldo Starts July 1st! We are very excited to have 35 participating businesses this year for our Where’s Waldo event. The event will run from July 1st-July 31st. Passports can be picked up at Givens bookstore, the Retail Merchants Association or participating Waldo Businesses. Take a Journey around Central Virginia this Summer! Where’s Waldo is open to all ages and prizes will be awarded in two groups. Get off the couch this Summer and SUPPORT LOCAL!
