In Memory Of
What a wonderful way to honor the memory of a friend or family member.

With your check, include the name of the person being memorialized, as well as the name and address of the person you would like notified.

In Honor Of
Another great way to say thank you to someone important in your life! By giving a gift in honor of your friend/family member, you will be helping another individual or family that needs assistance from one of our community's service providers. We will notify the person being honored of your generous gift.  (Include the name/address.)

Gift of Securities
Giving a gift of appreciated stock generally offers a two-fold tax saving. You save on the capital gains taxes -- and the Foundation can cash the stock in and avoid paying the tax. Donors can take a charitable deduction on the full dollar value of the stock at the time of the gift, too, even if they originally spent a fraction of that amount to buy the stock. (Note: Applicable only if the donor has held the stock for at least a year.) If a broker holds the stock, the donor can arrange the gift with a phone call. Just tell the broker to transfer the stock to the Retail Merchants Foundation, Inc. We will be happy to work with your stock broker to make the transfer.

Leave A Legacy^� Of The Blue Ridge
What a wonderful way to leave a lasting legacy!  This is a program of the local gift planning council affiliated with the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning.  This program was designed to inspire people from all backgrounds and income levels in our area to consider how their benevolence can make a continuing impact after their lifetime.

There are many ways to leave your legacy.  Some can be completed without the help of an advisor; however, you are encouraged to consult a professional before making any charitable bequests.  Consulting a progessional will help to ensure that charitable gifts compliment your overall estate plans.
